Adam Guettel as Fabrizio
#0Adam Guettel as Fabrizio
Posted: 8/2/05 at 6:03pmDoes anyone think this would be HOT? I didn't hear it b/c BWW radio doesn't work for me but my friend told me Seth said Adam should play Fabrizio. Even if it doesn't make much sense I absolutely love the idea! His voice is so gorgeous on the Piazza demos. I want to see him as Fabrizio just once.

I'd love to see him do a concert of his music sometime -- he has a beautiful voice. But, while he's very handsome, I don't think (at 40) he can pass for 22 these days. He did a little too much partying in the 80s and 90s.

fabrizio is supposed to be 20, if they changed his age and the fathers final objection to the marriage, then sure, hed be awesome.
likewise, if they change tracy to a cross dresser, i think marc shaiman would rock.
sadly, i dont think ill live to see either...

No threadjack intended...
Did you notice that Guettel's sung version of "Dividing Day" was like a samba, and that the rhythm of the song changed for the show to be more dramatic and less jazz lounge?

Posted: 8/2/05 at 9:30pmI liked that the two versions you heard of Dividing Day were so different. Anyway, I would like the idea if he was only younger... but I agree with others that he is just too old nowadays to play the part. It would be interesting though to see him as Fabrizio.

i love his version of dividing day!!
though it will never happen, it would put an interesting twist on that relationship he and kelli used to have, huh?

1. Go to the website apdarcy mentioned
2. Launch the audio player
3. On the upper right hand side, there is a place where you can "Listen to Adam Guettel's demos"
4. Click and enjoy!

Posted: 8/2/05 at 10:03pmI'm afraid I think he's too old to actually play the role in the Broadway production, but I wouldn't think twice about paying $100 to listen to him perform the score. Actually, I would pay $100 to watch him do anything.

And to continue on with my threadjacking...
whereas I can be Very Mean in Threads...
Grrr...
I just got Guettel's Floyd Collins CD...
I love the "The Dream" song where he "sees" his sister in the cave, and "The Riddle Song," and especially the song with all the echoing in the cave which kind of reminds me of the playing with sound on the Piazza CD in "Aiutami" where the first call of "Clara!" seems to circle all around like Fabrizio's circular run onto the stage...

It was just a thought.
It would be an absolute dream for me to see him perform his music in concert. All the Piazza gushing might seem too much but all you have to do is hear his music and you know it's well-deserved. Guettel is the new Adam. Shhhhhh, don't tell Emcee! :)

Guettel is a fine rare breed, I agree.
I just wish he had someone attached to him who could crack the whip on him to get him to crank the music out faster.
How about you, broadway betty?
Could you temper love with discipline to inspire productivity as a muse?

Posted: 8/3/05 at 12:07amI would love Adam to find someone, not only to focus his attention on generating more music, to make him a father. Bear with me here, but I was thinking about how amazingly he has chronicled the quest for fame (Floyd Collins), longing (Saturn Returns), and love (Piazza). If he experienced paternity and wrote about it, it would absolutely floor me.

Gorgeous, as derived from the old French word of "gorgias," or wimple. Guess they thought their nuns were very beautiful...
