All Shook Up in Chicago Pre-Broadway

I read an interview months ago with Cheyenne Jackson discussing how much the show had changed from the Pre-Broadway engagement in Chicago to the opening on Broadway.
If I remember correctly he talked about multiple songs being cut along with the plot being changed quite a bit. He also said something about cutting an entire set from the show?
If anyone saw the show Pre-Broadway and the show since it opened on Broadway please elaborate on what was cut/added because Mr. Jackson did not go into detail.

Return to Sender used to be in the show explaining natalie's dad's problems with the ladys.
Cheyenne used to take his shirt off in Act II to go "swimming" and "smack each other's privates"
a whole new church set was built for the finale instead of using a record type set that was used in chicago
I heard the beginning is now different. In chicago, the bride in the beginning was Natalie's sister, but now I heard it is just a regular bride with no association with Natalie
that's all I can think of right now.

Posted: 8/5/05 at 5:34pmI saw it in Chicago, but no on Broadway, so I'm not sure what's been cut, but I heard that the nuns during "Devil in Disguise" were cut, as well as the flying angels on motorcycles. I can't imagine that the plot could change too much (girl 1 likes guy 1 likes girl 2 likes girl 1 disguised as guy2 , with the adoring side-kick guy 3 loving girl 1 from afar).

That's a video montage of the Chicago All Shook Up. From what I can tell, it seems like they get married in the bar at the end. It looks a bit darker than the Broadway version.
Also, this is a photo gallery of the Chicago production:

It says that Sylvia sings a song called "Hard Knocks". That's no longer in the show.
And I, too, like the angels! They're a fun part of the show.

The statues look different than in the Broadway production.

It was the bar that the wedding took place in (at least when I saw it, which was the final night of the Previews of the Chicago run (so they were very much still figuring things out and making changes).
Sylvia sang There's Always Me, so maybe the other song got cut really early, or was tried out part way through and then they went back to this? On a side note, There's Always Me sounds great on the CD, but it's 100 times more amazing live.
Oh, and before Chicago they were going to make Chad blond, so all of the posters, advertisements, and playbills in Chicago have the cartoon character with blond hair because they'd already been printed, but Cheyenne Jackson already had a black wig.

I didn't understand them either, WickedGeek28.
As much as I like All Shook Up, it was stated somewhere that the musical cost $14 million dollars to produce, but where did all that money go?
The set is good, but not complex or anything along with the costumes.
My only guess is the rights to do all of the Elvis songs were very expensive?

no no no, all the items popular_elphie posted are from the Goodspeed production NOT chicago. So of course the sets and costumes are different.
The picture posted by loganp37 is from Goodspeed too, cause the statues didn't look like that in chicago.
the song "Hard Knocks" was never in the Chicago run. I saw the second preview and another time into the run, and it was never there.

"Oh, and before Chicago they were going to make Chad blond, so all of the posters, advertisements, and playbills in Chicago have the cartoon character with blond hair because they'd already been printed, but Cheyenne Jackson already had a black wig."
Don't forget, Jarrod Emick was originally supposed to star, Cheyenne Jackson was a last minute replacement. (there was a financial compensation disagreement). Maybe he had lighter hair at the time.

I'm not sure where the money for the production goes now, but I'm sure a lot of it went into the set. There's a lot of things in the show, such as the bike/bus, which are, "Ooooo, look at that!" type things, and I'm sure they cost a lot.
The flying angels are part of it for a reason!
"He can redeem his soul and fly
He can fly..."
Hence the FLYING angels.
