So if Angela Lansbury wants to be back on Broadway how about a revival of "A Little Night Music"?

Anyone else think this would be a marvelous opportunity?

Is it humanly possible you've missed the 97,000 other people who have tossed this idea around?

What not bring it up again? On the day her interest is announced? It's the most obvious role for her, and we'd all crawl all over one another to be there.

But only with the right Desiree. Please, please, not Glenn. Christine Ebersole and Lansbury as mother-daughter, perfection.

I am jsut excited at the prospects of her returning to the New York theatre scene. Even if it has been mentioned, who truly cares if it is mentioned again? Angie in A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC revival would be smashing. Maybe the more it is mentioned, the more it could become a reality!

It doesn't say a musical. I'd imagine being in a play would be much less strenuous on her and her body, so I wouldn't be surprised if she goes down that route.

And, before someone jumps on my wording, I don't mean that being in a play is easy, just easier than being in a musical... especially for someone of 80 years old.

Well, if she's cast as who I think she'd be cast as (Gunilla Garson Goldberg)...I highly doubt it would be that strenuous for her.

Plus...this is just merely a fantasy of mine. I know she'd be perfect for the role.

Realistically, I think it'll go to someone like Carole Shelley.

I'm sure Angela would love to do "A Little Night Music". It's not a strenuous role- there's only one song and she can be literally sitting throughout her entire time on stage. It will also easily get her a 5th Tony.

I went to a reading of Oscar and the Pink Lady, the play that she has been thinking about producing. It's not Broadway material by any means- it's an old-fashioned tear-jerker about an old woman who befriends a dying boy in the hospital.
