Fascinating interview...she seems so gung ho about everything from the score and book down to the way its presented.... the way it should be, better for stage than film,etc...very interesting.

What did you expect her to do, say she hates it?
Yeah, really! The creative team of any show should be positive about their product. They are, in fact, selling something, and it's very important in selling to set forth a postive vibe.
no , i didnt expect her to say that. i just was surprised that she has a completely positive opinion all across the board. I was left wondering when that was filmed, why she didnt discuss the production as a work in progress. i dont think that would have been viewed as negative.
"Yes Anne, you're check is in the mail."
It's Anne Rice. Every word she writes springs forth into a perfectly realized poem. She doesn't do critical.
The team has already talked about the changes they intend to make (right before they left SF). They never tried to hide the fact that they knew the show needed some work. They've been attending to it, and now are preparing to present it to New York. So, by this time...it's gonna all be Positive talk.
When the original film was made, she was just awful saying that nobody could play Lestat but Rutger Hauer, (BLECH!!!) - So Miss Ann do go way out on that limb sometimes.
I cant imagine Hauer...at all. I generally dont like Tom Cruise, but he did a serviceable job. Its tough with Lestat being one of my favorite fictional characters.
A friend of mine was at an event on Monday in New York and the cast performed a few songs from the show. He said Hugh Panaro was there and sang. They also played the Anne Rice video at the event.
any other thoughts from your friend?
