Any New News on Cry Baby?

I was wondering if there is any new news about Cry Baby becoming a show? Is it actually happening? With Hairspray winding down, they should get a move on with it!

Oh this makes me so happy! That movie has some really amazing (and funny) characters, and I hope the music has a rockabilly feel to it! I trust that I will like this as much as I liked Hairspray!
now that it's happening, who do people want to see cast?

Pretty much just the equity tour ending because thats a pretty big thing to do when the movie is coming out next year, it just seems like they're winding things down, which is sad

I don't think Hairspray is "winding down" at all. Look at their numbers...they were at 95% capacity last week and have been over 100% recently. They are doing great. Also, just because the tour is going non-Equity that doesn't necessarily mean the end of the show. It's very possible that the tour will go non-Equity for a season until the movie opens, and then go back to being an Equity tour. It's been done before. I think Hairspray has at least another few years left in it at least.

I wish Johnny Depp would do it... I love the movie. But I don't see him as a broadway person, since he doesn't like being around lots of people.

It would be funny is Johnny played the uncle in the show, but that might just be my weird sence of humor!
