A while back there was a story about a Dame Edna show coming to Broadway.

You should take more vacations.

When Dame Edna has the flexibility to perform as and when she wants, why would she commit to doing Hairspray 8 times a week? But yes, there was a rumour about it coming to London's Victoria Palace but that must have fallen through as it is now home to Tonight's the Night, a Rod Stewart musical.

There still are plans of a London production of Hairspray, but I wouldn't like to see Dame Edna in it.

AN EVENING WITH DAME EDNA is well worth seeing. I saw it on Broadway and again last year when it was in DC. She changes material frequently and the audience in DC was great. How responsive the audience is helps make it an even better show. As Barry Humphries has a lot of experience in musicals (the original casts of OLIVER and the Mendes revival as Fagin), he might be a great choice for Edna in London. He doesn't have to do it as Dame Edna playing Edna Turnblad.
