Thought I would throw this out here. The Denver Center is doing something a bit out of the ordinary for "Phantom's" return to the city. Check out this article. If you have any questions, post them in the feedback section for me and I will try to get them answered. I thought it might be fun to get some of your questions about the show and the current tour. They are also allowing photo to be taken so I will post those also.

The chandelier on tour, and on Broadway, is kind of a bore.
For the real deal you have to go to Vegas. Now THAT'S a chandelier!

True, the Vegas Chandelier is AMAZING.
The chandelier for the Toronto production fell faster than the tour or Broadway, as well. I'm told the London chandelier fall is impressive.

Well I am putting this out there because they have not allowed press in to the load in before. I thought that maybe people here may have questions they want to ask. it doesn't have to be about the chandelier. But, you can ask why different chandelier's appear to fall faster/different than others.

Posted: 2/21/09 at 1:47amThat's fine. Was just putting it out there. I know this show has been around for a very long time, but they are giving us access that is not ordinarily given. I just thought that rather than reading an interview with questions from an interviewer, it might be nice to have questions from people who like the show or have questions that have not been asked.

Ok 3 technical questions.
1. Do they still do the "jump set" where they have 2 sets, 1 is installed just before the current stop is over. Or is it just part of the set. If so, what parts are set up in advance?
2. Do they still (or have they ever) use 2 sets, one is smaller than the other to fit into smaller houses.
3. Is the roof top scene (the cutout of the roof and the houses with lit windows) 2 seperate flown pieces, or are they collapsable & driven on from the wings?

Posted: 2/23/09 at 5:11pmThey've never had two sets. They do have two stage decks so that load-in will be quicker. The sets themeselves are somewhat adjustable to fit in spaces of variable size.

Posted: 2/25/09 at 11:10pmJust got back from the second night of the load-in and tech for the "Phantom" tour. I have to say, it was pretty cool and look for an article on it in a few days. Justin, I got the answers to your questions, and then some. Pics will be included.
