At This Performance...

Hi gang,

Can anybody please tell me where I can get one of these signs. I am a huge fan of understudies and enjoy reading those precious words on the sign, "At this performance". I just want to hang it in my living room. At the flea market 2 years ago I just missed one from "Phantom", and it even had "Carlotta" slides in it. I was so close but someone bought it a minute before I did. What happens to them after a show closes? Someone has to have them. Can anyone help me please?

Well, I'm sure that there will be others at the flea market. Perhaps you should write to the producers of a show. If a producer is kind, perhaps they'd give it to you or sell it to you.

Do you get more excited when you get an understudy then the regular performer?

I know Rent often sells the sliders. I've seen Aida do it, too.

I get more excited as long as it was someone I did not mind missing. Like when I saw David Hasselhoff was out at Jekyll, I was thrilled!!!

The one to have would have been Wonderful Town when Donna Murphy was in it. Rumor has it that the sign read: "We are as shocked as you are that at this performance, the role of Ruth will be played by Donna Murphy"

Definitely check the flea market every year. I've seen many of them for sale (not on auction, but actually for sale).
