I have no idea what this will be like, but I screamed when I read this. It's Audra, and I'll be there.
YAY next spring 2016 right before the Tony cutoff and probably the last musical of the 2015-2016 season...Hamilton's competition?
Savion Glover is a goddamn genius, anything he's apart of, I'm there.
Ridiculous talent
This sounds very intriguing! That creative team and Audra and an interesting subject is bound to be a good show.
Sorry if I missed this, but are we take it from the article that this will not be an original score, but that it will showcase the original score from SHUFFLE ALONG? Wonder if this will be another play vs. musical debate.
They list the original song writers, so I'm pretty certain it will be music from Shuffle Along, and not original.

It's a great score but with some lyrics that are hair-raisingly "of the period". The hit song was "I'm Just Wild About Harry", but I can't wait to see what George C. does with "Bandana Days".
It definitely sounds more like a LADY DAY situation. A play strictly speaking, that just happens to feature music because it's about musicians and a musical.
When I first saw the headline I thought it was a bona fide revival of the show itself!
Sounds like a NEW musical about the creation of an existing musical to me.

i hope they figure out a new title because the current one is a mouthful
Fabulous! This combination of extremely talented people working together on this material to create an intelligent Broadway entertainment is exciting to me.

ugh..let's see how well she responds to a backstage area reeking with pot and tapping with a constant posture of bending over
I like the idea a lot. I think Audra is pretentious and overrated, but this seems like a really fascinating piece. And George C. Wolfe ain't no slouch.
