Posted: 3/20/06 at 1:44pmnow that he has passed away i think some producer or intelligent director (George C. Wolfe) should do like a marathon of his ten shows - maybe in chronological order or maybe in order written - with the same actors playing the same roles that repeat in the various plays. sort of a Woodstock of August Wilson's work.

Posted: 3/20/06 at 1:46pmThat seems to be more of a fit for a regional or non-profit company, but I'm sure, something that will happen. I think Broadway needs Wilson's superb last play, Radio Golf, first though.

Posted: 3/20/06 at 1:51pmSince the Denver Center Theatre Company is the only regional theatre to have done all of his plays, excepth Radio Golf, in order and all directed by Isreal Hicks, there was talk of doing it. But after Tantalus, I think we may not do it.

Posted: 3/20/06 at 2:00pmThey were supposed to do something like this last year off-Broadway at the Signature, but after his death, it was cancelled. Something to do with his estate or something. I'm sure someone here can fill you in on what happened with that, but hopefully it will happen in the future.
