So much for the naysayers who said it may not even open. This is FANTASTIC news!
Great news. This show deserves to be seen and should have as long and healthy a run as possible.
FINALLY- I will have a chance to see this one
I bought two tickets for this show on two separate dates 11/10 and this coming Sat-11/24- both were cancelled due to strike.

I have a ticket for December 6th. If I don't get to see it then, I will have to fly back after the strike. I really want to see this show.
Great news !! This is a TRUE theatrical experience !!!
What an amazing show :))

Wish it would extend to the end of April, then I could see it.
I had 2nd row center seats for last Sunday's matinee, so this really is good news. The show I was most anticipating, even more than the Stoppard play, which I will next forfeit -- Sunday. Perhaps the only silver lining to the strike will be a winter revival. A friend of mine was just cast in the COME BACK LITTLE SHEBA revival, and says everyone is actually very January-focused now.
Excellent news. This could also serve as a good sign that other limited engagement plays may follow suit and not fold, but instead extend!

I guess I would have been sitting in front of Auggie last Sunday at August: Osage; I had a front-row center ticket; I was so bummed! This Sunday, I will be missing The Homecoming. But I was so happy to hear this news that I went and bought myself another front-row seat for the day after Christmas, so if the League and the Stagehands want to give me a present...
I can't wait to see this. The word of mouth has been great. Hopefully the performances will commence soon.

I assume the cast is being put up in New York by the producers since everyone transferred from Steppenwolf. As such, this is terrific news. Everytime I walk down 45th Street, this is the one I'm waiting for to reopen. Hopefully I can go before Christmas.
I have tickets for the Saturday matinee, December 8th and have my fingers crossed that the strike will be over by then. I have been looking forward to this ever since it was announced. The feedback from Chicago and from those who saw it in NY has been tremendous. If the strike is not over by the 8th I will be out of luck since I live 300 miles from the City which I used to call home.
I just checked TDF- they are not selling this anymore farther than Wed 11/28.. I guess. it makes sense. I cant believe I bought two tickets for this show- both got cxld....
I still have 1 vacation day that I have to use at work or I will loose it. I am thinking (hopefully) to see this show in any Wednesday matinees this December. I CANNOT WAIT anymore! and pick up my Xanadu OBCR.. yay! all I can do is to wish !

So I'm going to see this show on Dec 14 and I just have one question...
EVERYWHERE it says: "Latecomers will not be sat in the first 15 minutes of the performance" which I completely understand, and I, of course, am not planning on being late, BUT, my question is. . .
Is there something big that happens right at the beginning that might endanger wandering audience members or something? :-P I mean, if it's a huge spoiler, don't ruin it, but. . .I'm just wondering.
I can't wait!!
There is no major happening at the beginning of the show like you're describing. The very first scene of the show is incredibly quiet and intimate and I guess they don't want that disturbed.
FYI, TDF people....there is a whole slew of dates for this show (including weekends) up now.
now extended till April 13!
GO SEE IT!!!

I am trying to get back to NYC to see it again next month.

I got to see it last week and while it's hardly groundbreaking, it is one potent show with so much killer dialogue. I made a point of it because I thought it was only running until March and then I was welcomed home with an email ticket offer showing the extension.
However, if I hadn't gone, I also wouldn't have met John Waters. He was outside during the first intermission Friday night and the little fanboy in me walked right up and said "I just wanted to say hi and I'm such a fan of Hairspray and Serial Mom." He said "Thank you so much" and I went on my merry way. I was so buzzed that I called my best friend just before the lights went down again.
Sweet. I didn't think I'd be back to NY before it closed. It's been stuck in my mind since I saw it last month.
Fan-freakin'-tastic.
