Are the seats in the mezz. any good. Should I buy mezz seats or wait to see the show when for when I can find Orchestra seats? Also were are the seats located for the Rush seats? Are they like last row mezz. or are they front row orchestra? Is this lottery very popular? Thanks!

If you are going to NYU I doubt the amount of money you can spend is a problem.

There is not a bad seat in the house--it is a small theatre. Just buy a ticket whereever you can get one.

Agreed...I saw it in the 3rd row from the ceiling (back of house upstairs) and it was a fine seat...cheaper too...didn't miss a thing.

Does anyone know anything about the Lottery? Where the seats are?

Straight from the Q website:

AVENUE Q sells the first row of the Orchestra via a Lottery for each performance. Two hours prior to each performance, 12 tickets will be sold BY LOTTERY in front of the theatre at $21.25 per ticket.

There is a limit of two tickets per person. These tickets are located in the first row of the orchestra and must be paid for in cash. Each person will print their name and the number of tickets (1 or 2) they wish to purchase on a card that we will provide. You must fill out your own name ONLY (as it appears on your identification; nicknames will not be accepted) and place the card in the supervised container. Duplications will be automatically disqualified. Only one card is allowed per person. Be aware that these cards are checked for duplication prior to the performance.

For 8pm performances cards will be available from 5:30 - 6:00PM and the drawing will be held promptly at 6:00PM. For 2pm performances on SATURDAYS, cards will be available from 11:30am - 12:00pm and the drawing will be held promptly at 12:00pm. For 2pm performances on SUNDAYS, cards will be available from 12:00pm - 12:30pm and the drawing will be held promptly at 12:30pm. For 7pm performances, cards will be available from 5:00pm to 5:30pm and the drawing will be held promptly at 5:30pm. If you are a winner and your name is found on more than one card, you will not be allowed into the theatre and the cost of the ticket(s) will be refunded.

If your name is called at the time of the drawing and you are not present, you will be automatically disqualified. After the names have been drawn, the eligible ticket buyers will line up at the Box Office window to show proper identification and buy their ticket(s). After the lottery, no more $21.25 tickets will be available for that performance.

the lottery is really hard because there are only 12 seats to fill and they only pick 6-8 names. Last time i was there i was lucky to get picked, but there were easily 50 names in the bucket.
