I've heard that there are only 1 or 2 doz. tix left @ the box office. I'm especially looking forward to tonight's installment because Scott Coulter is directing.
And don't let me forget to mention that Noah's in the show, as well as Kendrick Jones, Cheyenne Jackson and Harvey Evans! I've read that there will be SIX different song & dance numbers.
Add Ross Patterson's Little Big Band and his super arrangements. Zowee!
"1954 on Broadway was memorable for it marked the debut of the composing team of Adler and Ross and their The Pajama Game, the first of many musicals produced by Harold Prince, Julie Andrews made her Broadway debut in The Boy Friend, David Merrick produced his first musical - Harold Rome’s Fanny, Mary Martin made flying history with her unforgettable Peter Pan, and the first musical to transfer to the Great White Way from Off-Broadway - The Golden Apple."

Last night was my first time to one of these, and I am hooked! I loved all of it, but the stand-outs for me were:
Emily Skinner ~ "I'd Rather Wake Up By Myself" from By The Beautiful Sea and "Distant Melody" from Peter Pan
Cheyenne Jackson ~ "Hey There" from The Pajama Game
Cheyenne Jackson and Sierra Boggess ~ "There Once Was a Man" from The Pajama Game
Mark Price and Jen Cody ~ "Won't You Charleston With Me from The Boy Friend (danced even though Jen had injured her leg)
Sierra Boggess ~ "Wildflowers" from The Golden Apple
Natalie Belcon and Kendrick Jones ~ "Slide Boy, Slide" from House of Flowers
But I completely enjoyed everything!

Posted: 4/8/08 at 9:59amIt was so much more fun than I had thought it would be. And for me, meeting Emily afterwards was the ultimate highlight. She was super sweet. :)

Posted: 4/8/08 at 10:21amNoah did "Steam Heat" from The Pajama Game along with Melinda Sullivan. He'd choreographed the number. It was also wonderful. :)

This was my fourth BBTY and it was the most consistently good show. Noah Racey's choreography was just breathtaking for Steam Heat and Kendrick Jones' choreography for "Slide Boy Slide" was also wonderful.
Emily Skinner was most impressive during "I'll Never Be Jealous Again" and "Distant Melody," but still was excellent throughout the evening.
Debbie Gravitte did a great sultry/bluesy "Lay Afternoon." And then turned on the classic Broadway belt for "I'm Not At All In Love."
Cheyenne Jackson never sounded better and his "Hey There" was pretty perfect.
Jen Cody is a brilliant musical comedy actress and she really sold the vaudeville type song, “Lottie Gibson Specialty” which was originally delivered by Shirley Booth.
BUT, the STANDOUT of the evening was Sierra Boggess. I haven't seen The Little Mermaid, but now I'm considering going. She has a lovely soprano which she showed off during "Windflowers" from The Golden Apple. However, I did not expect her to literally blow the roof off of Town Hall. Her belting and range during "There Once Was a Man" were just out of this world and had more energy in her feet then Kelli O'Hara ever had in general. BRAVA!!
Edit: Forgot to add director, Scott Coulter's, rendition of "When I Went Home." A cut song from Peter Pan. Beautiful.
