And there are still tickets available for the show she's in. Great cast!

This is a good cast, tho I'm not familiar with Larry Grossman. Anybody going to see it?

Thanks for the heads-up. That was a great read (love her MySpace.com story). Just like her sister Liza, she looks great without all that war paint she puts on for her appearances.

Loved her duet with Rufus on his JUDY GARLAND: LIVE AT CARNEGIE HALL (at the London Palladium) DVD.

"I knew Margaret Hamilton. When I lived in New York, I’d sit and talk with her in Ted Hook’s restaurant, and she was one of the nicest, sweetest women I’ve ever known. And I do remember that my mom said to me the hardest thing in The Wizard of Oz was being afraid of her, because she was a lovely woman. And she was wonderful as that character, so I’m pleased to be putting on that pointy hat for her."

I love that she said this!

I had the same thought when I met Margaret Hamilton for the first time. I couldn't believe this nice, lovely lady was the wicked witch! She created one of the screen's most iconically evil characters of all time... and was one of the nicest, warmest ladies I've ever met.

These pictures of Lorna are wonderful. No makeup, no frills. Just a wholesomely beautiful face.

Lorna Luft gave a fine performance...I think she was kind of nervous from learning all this material...a few flubs all around from the cast, but still, it came together and they were fine. Lorna Luft's belt sounds so much like Liza's. It was so cool. She definitely has a wonderful singing voice, but I think her acting could use a little refinement (maybe it was because they had so little rehearsal time though). Still, it was wonderful to see her live on stage. The show itself, however, while it had some nice tunes, it was kind of an incoherent mess. Oh well.

I'm glad I found this thread/interview because I would have never known that she was in nyc. Her website really sucks about actually promoting her! I am so glad that I will finally have the chance to see her live tomorrow and possibly meet her!

Gypsy1527...what did you think? and anyone else who saw it..?

I went to Minnie's Boys and Goodtime Charlie at the York but couldn't make any of these performances. Too bad, it was a good cast.

Had the good luck to see Lorna's SONGS MY MOTHER TAUGHT ME. Quite an emotional event, you can't discount the Garland spector hovering over everything.

It really something though, it's like both Liza and Lorna got half of Judy's immense talent.

Liza got the showmanship, the ability to connect with an audience, to "star" quality.

But Lorna got the voice. Lorna's got pipes on her that put her more famous sister to shame.
