I get disapointed with alot of the people that join bandwagons, jsut cuz they are bandwagons, even if it is just a subconcious thing and they think they are really into something because they are....

Name any bandwagon that you can think of that is just plain annoying to you...

#1 Hairspray being the best thing since sliced bread.
#2 I love it, but the Rent Phenom.

#1 - I hate Boy from Oz. Did you even SEE the show? Book problems, yes. Waste of an afternoon/evening? - no. It's a highly entertaining show and I suggest you see it. Forget the critics.

MX, I agree, there were problems to be sure, but Hugh Jackman is giving what must be the most exciting performance on Broadway at the moment. And not ot sound like Liz Smith but this one might just out fox the critics in running as long as he's in it.

Sheekala,

I agree that it would be worth a lot of people shelling out the money to see Hugh Jackman give a great performance. HOWEVER, I was one of the lucky ones to witness his Billy Bigelow at Carnegie Hall, then I'll pass (unless someone gives me a free ticket...anyone...Bueller?)

I was there too robbiej, and I hold his performance in the London Oklahoma close to my faded and miserable heart. Would of loved him to play the Phantom in the film version.

Or, as Ken Mandelbaum said today in his column, how wonderful would a revival of COMPANY starring Hugh have been??

It's not just Hugh - I thought everyone in the cast gave wonderful performances (although I wasn't that thrilled w/ the mother's singing voice)...

I guess I am not on a bandwagon. Never saw HJ's Oklahoma, but have listened to his songs from the cast recording way too many times. Not to impressed. Give me John Raitt or Gordon Mac anytime. But....I do have tickets to see Boy from Oz at Christmas. I do want to see any performer give it his/her all.

how true! now, rent's a great show, but it really bothers me when people claim to be broadway fanatics and know everything... when the only show they've ever heard of is rent. i know someone just like that... yay, get to vent here... there are SOO many bandwagon shows and it makes me sad...they dont just don't understand re: Bandwagons....
