I"m coming to NY in June and have tickets to see House of Blue Leaves. I'm a musical lover and so normally go for musicals, but bought tickets to see House of Blue Leaves for the chance to see Ben Stiller live.

How is he in the play? And does he come out to the stage door? Is he friendly?

I liked him in the play, but didn't have time to wait at the stage door. I did, however, stage-door when he was appearing at the Public Theater a few years ago, and though he did seem a bit uncomfortable with the whole autograph thing, he did sign and I was able to thank him for all the hours of laughter he'd given my children with his movies!

Ben Stiller is too young to be an old talent.
What kind of facacta casting is this?

Artie Shaughnessy is 45 in the script. Ben Stiller is 45 in real life. Age has nothing to do with it.

"You travel alone because other people are only there to remind you how much that hook hurts that we all bit down on. Wait for that one day we can bite free and get back out there in space where we belong, sail back over water, over skies, into space, the hook finally out of our mouths and we wander back out there in space spawning to other planets never to return hurrah to earth and we'll look back and can't even see these lives here anymore. Only the taste of blood to remind us we ever existed. The earth is small. We're gone. We're dead. We're safe." -John Guare, Landscape of the Body

I thought he was fine in the play. I don't think the reason this play didn't work had anything to do with the actors (maybe Jennier Jason Leigh), but all to do with David Cromer. It just isn't a good production.

He does come out at the stage door, and while I wouldn't call him personable (like Edie Falco was) he did take time to pose for pictures and sign for most. It is also a zoo at the stage door so keep that in mind.

Thanks for the feedback. Am glad to hear he does come to the stage door...even if a bit awkward. Dissapointed to hear that the play isn't getting great reviews but still excited to see it.

Do you guys think Cromer will make any positive changes while the play's in previews?

This production is so misguided and ill conceived that I doubt David Cromer can improve it. He would have to completely re-conceive his entire vision for the play. He clearly has no gift for comedic plays.
