I'm so confused.
Can you post the pic of Betty again, and restate exactly what you want compared?

Posted: 4/19/05 at 12:47pmDon't know who Betty is, can't see the pic, but I can tell you that if you ever call Turner Kathy to her face, she'll kick your ass from here till Tuesday.

Posted: 4/19/05 at 12:49pmOoh, I'm going to call her Kathy just so I can say Kathleen Turner kicked my ass.

Posted: 4/19/05 at 12:54pmI am not sure why you can't see both pictures. My point is that Turner seems to be turning into Ms. Bacall...looks and sounds. I saw Turner on a talk show and thought it was Betty!

Oh absolutely. I've noticed that for years. And the fact that Turner's voice gets deeper with time only makes the comparison more obvious.
However, personality-wise, they couldn't be farther apart.

Posted: 4/19/05 at 1:05pmI wonder if Kathleen Turner will beat me up extra hard if I call her Lauren Bacall to her face?
#10re: Betty or Kathy...
Posted: 4/19/05 at 1:07pmConsidering Bacall has about 25 years on her, yes, she probably would.

Posted: 4/19/05 at 1:08pmHehe perfect...My plan to have Kathleen Turner kick my ass is now in place...hehe...

Posted: 4/19/05 at 1:52pmFixed it, I hope. Do you think Turner is a LEGEND?
#13re: Betty or Kathy...
Posted: 4/19/05 at 2:00pmShe may still be a little young to be considered a "legend", but she will be a legend one day. And she deserves it!

Would Betty be considered a legend today if based solely on her work? I understand the old Hollywood ties being married to Bogie and all, but aside from some good work in movies and on the stage (albeit in mediocre shows), what elevates her to legend status other than the fact that she married well?
#15re: Betty or Kathy...
Posted: 4/19/05 at 2:05pmThat and the fact that she is still alive.
#16re: Betty or Kathy...
Posted: 4/19/05 at 2:12pmI'm not sure why everyone is calling her Betty...isn't it Lauren Bacall

Sueleen Dear, the top pic is of Bacall and the bottom pic is of Kathleen Turner angel. :)
DGRANT--Turner was amazing in CRIMES OF PASSION, no? A fabulous performance in a fascinating and very sexy film. I love it.

Crimes of Passion was hilariously bad. My favorite Turner performance was actually in a smaller role - The Accidental Tourist. Though it's not one of my favorites she was great in Body Heat. And one of my guilty pleasure films is Romancing the Stone. Cheesy, but still a fun movie.
EDIT: And how could I forget Turner in The Virgin Suicides. She was virtually unrecognizable in what I conseder to be her most honest and heartbreaking performance.
