Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg, NYC & Company and the Times Square Alliance have announced a "Dining in the District" restaurant discount — effective Nov. 17-25 (excluding Thanksgiving day) — as a means to counter the loss of business in New York's theatre district due to the current stagehands strike.

The "special weeklong dining program [is] intended to attract New Yorkers and visitors to restaurants... that have been affected by the Broadway stagehand strike," according to an announcement, and "will offer a 15% discount on lunch or dinner to all patrons at more than 25 participating restaurants."

Will they put on a SHOW, as well? I'm thinking something along the lines of Naked Waiters Singing. re: Bloomberg and Co. Offer Theatre-District Dining Discount to Boost Strike-Affected Businesses

Hope this isnt a dumb question, but are all of those restaurants automatically doing this when you go in and eat, or do you have to bring in a discount coupon or something?
I dont know, just wasnt sure if theres some special discount sheet you have to bring in...

But this is good news for my trip this week :) Was hoping to make it to the Brooklyn Diner anyways, and now I'll have even more reason to go, haha.

How many more restaurants will join in the promotion as the strike drags on?
