Brooklyn is not giving up yet
They just started a new ad campaign (I just got a BKLYN flyer in the mail today from TeleCharge), They went on TV with the new commercial and the radio ad is running 24/7

Bad week. Brooklyn can't survive past summer. And poor Little Women.

I also neglected to notice that Streetcar and Virginia Woolf had increases in their grosses, though both dropped a bit in their percentage of paid capacity.

Looks like Brooklyn is below even its paltry running costs. And poor Democracy- I think it's a bit of a miracle it's lasted even this long.

So...anyone want to speculate on closing dates for Good Vibrations?

What I think is a shame is how shows like Brooklyn, and Good Vibrations are currently running and shows like Sweeney Todd and Les Miz, and Aida are gone. It's also when people think of Broadway and they think of Mamma Mia and Hairspray (shakes head).

"They went on TV with the new commercial and the radio ad is running 24/7".

Oh boy. If they are looking for that "Brooklyn" TV commercial to bring in business, they might as well close the doors now.

Ha ha Brooklyn, you suck. You too, Good Vibrations. Glad audiences are starting to come to their senses.

Unless Goulet plays Lancelot again & rides to the rescue of the La Cage grosses, it may be gone in a month or 2. What a shame

That's not necessarily true. Does anyone remember the A Chorus Line commercials that did VERY well for the show and had a bit of a legend themselves for a while. Although broadway was different then.

I think most shows are praying that they can stay open till the tourist get here. What show do u think will be the first to go.

I think all the ones that are not scheduled to close will remail open at least until May 10th, after that I see GOOD VIBRATIONS shuttering quicker than the Bush twins getting drunk at Happy Hour. BROOKLYN possibly, depending on whether it grabs a nod or not. LA CAGE will do just fine in the nominations department, and with Goulet will find a fruitful box office come May. LITTLE WOMEN better hope for big things as well (more than Sutton & Maureen would be nice for them).

Other than that, looks like theyll all be safe for the time being. Although GLASS MINAGERIE better watch itself, and even though OGP was low, it was opening week- next week HAS to be better!

If there is only one revival category this year, LA CAGE's design and choreography nominations won't give it much boost at the box office. It looks like Goulet's name is all they have going for them now. If James Earl Jones and Leslie Uggams in a well reviewed show, Delta Burke and company in a mixed reviewed show and Jessica Lange and Christian Slater in a poorly reviewed classic aren't selling many tickets, Goulet must be nervous. And what of JULIUS CAESAR not selling out despite starring a bona fide A list movie star on stage for the first time in years? Maybe stars are no longer "sure things" when ticket prices are so high.

THAT was not a pretty read... I think La Cage is suffering from negative press and may in fact get a new lease on life when Goulet comes in.. I sure hope so. Brooklyn and GV are on their last legs.. I cant see them recovering. It's a shame since theirs such talented people in the show. If some shows can survive until summer they may have some hope..
