BONNIE & CLYDE has the Nederlander.

"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

Hm. I wonder where ELF will go.

And remember Lystitra Jones (or however you spell it) is taking the Golden.

I feel like the Longacre will be dark for awhile.

I thought Elf would take the Marquis...But now perhaps it will take the Rodgers?

What a genuinely refreshingly optimistic thread. I DO BEIEVE IN FAIRIES! I wish it were this easy to get the houses filled, but I'm afraid that the nature of the business is that there's no guarantee a show will open EVER, even if a contact is signed to house it. Face Value even had a marquee & never opened. Bobbie Boland closed after 6 previews. And, of course, it's getting harder to sustain a show.

So is Bonnie and Clyde coming to Broadway for sure then?

NICE WORK IF YOU CAN GET IT will take some theatre in the spring. Considering they have Matthew Broderick (I assume this see this as a major draw) they will probably push for a big house.

Evita is taking the Marquis? Thought it would be a better fit at the St. James.

The St. James is only a couple dozen seats bigger than the Marquis. They're basically the same size. How would it fit better in the St. James?

Why would the Longacre be empty for a while? It was newly renovated and is in prime location. It has a little over a thousand seats. I see it being taken sooner rather than later.

Unfortunately, the Belasco just got that huge renovation and is still dark. I bet the Lyceum is the one to stay dark. Those poor theatres east of 7th have such a hard time staying afloat. Anything Goes seems to be doing it though.

Follies is taking the Marquis for a limited time. Is it confirmed that Evita is at the Marquis later on? I haven't been keeping up these past weeks, what are rumors and what is fact?

What about the Booth? Is Other Desert Cities confirmed?

I wouldn't be surprised if EVITA has a conditional booking on the Marquis, but the theater they really want (and have since last year) is the Palace.

Since they're both Nederlander houses, expect it to take the latter if PRISCILLA... isn't able to sustain a run into the spring.

Tony Kushner: You can sing it at my funeral.

Already so many revivals next season:

FOLLIES
FUNNY GIRL
EVITA
GODSPELL
ON A CLEAR DAY (if they count the new version as a revival)

Well Evita will be in a Nederlander house as previously announced... http://www.playbill.com/news/article/137734-Will-Ricky-Martin-Be-in-Evitas-Broadway-Revival . I can't imagine them taking one of the smaller houses, I'd say Palace or Marquis

Neil Simon is expected for Evita.

It was originally planning on going in to the theatre in Autumn 2007 with the London revival that opened in 2006, but it closed and Webber got into Joseph and TV etc in the West End.

I imagine it will go in there and Catch Me will come off in January.

Marquis I think would be too small for Evita and Palace too big... ?

What also happened to Zorba revival for this season on Broadway?

I hope Oklahoma trasnfers to Richard Rodgers...

Evita isn't going to the Neil Simon. It's going to either the Marquis (if Priscilla runs) or the Palace.

Elf has already booked a theater for their return, but I don't know which one. I'm guessing the Richard Rodgers, though, given what's going to be available.

The Richard Rodgers is a nice size house for Elf.

RAIN ends Sept. 4; Elf would likely start loading in around mid-October to open by early November. Not much time for something limited especially considering the amount of available theaters.
