Hi Everyone,
I'm new here and hopefully someone can help me.
Sorry this post is so long, but it's probably not your typical request!
My name is Michael Elias and I'm a Natural Professional Bodybuilder.
My wife, Kendra Elias is a professional Fitness competitor.
I don't know how many of you have seen Professional Fitness competitions, but they feature a routine round that is a mix of high energy dance, strength moves, gymnastics etc..
Kendra is a professionally trained dancer who has danced for more than 25 years. She brings a very different flavor to professional fitness, and this is where I need your help.
Most Fitness routines are comprised of cheerleading style music mixes and the girls typically do gymnastics passes. Most of the routines look very similar.
Kendra does routines with classical music or broadway themes and it's very unique and different.
In order to develop a routine, we first need to find Broadway, Opera, or Classical tunes that have remixed with a techno or high energy feel.
To show you what I mean, here is a video of Kendra's most recent routine done to a remix of the Phantom of the Opera theme:

What I need from you guys are some new ideas for future routines.
If you know of any great remixes of Broadway tunes, please let me know where to find them.
Kendra would love to do a routine to a remix of Memory from Cats, for example.... or anything else that she can really perform to and draw in the audience.... but before she can create the performance, we have to find the right music.
Hopefully someone out there can help!
Thank you,
Michael Elias

There is apparently a remix to "Easy as Life" from Aida. I've never heard it, but I'm dying to. If anyone's got it...please PM me.

Not sure if this is what you're looking for, but there's a "Disco Ethel Merman" CD

As well as dance remix of Seasons of Love from Rent and a disco version of the Ballad of Sweeney Todd. Not sure if you could do a routine to that one =)

There are remixes of "I Am What I Am" and "And I Am Telling You I'm Not Going" that might work.

Oh, there is a One Night in Bankok mix on the Danish Cast recording. It's in English.
"It's Not Where You Start, It's Where You Finish"
"If They Could See Me Now"
"Don't Cry For Me, Argentina"
I used to hear this really sick re-mix of "The Sound of Music" during Sunday afternoon tea-dances.
Thanks again for the ideas everyone.
"If they could see me now" might work... hmmm.
The kicker is, whatever song it is needs to be really recognizable, because the judges at these competitions aren't necessarily broadway fans. However, if it's something they have heard, it will still draw them in.
Second, if it comes from a musical or opera with a theme that can be displayed in the routine.. it makes it much, much better.
That's one reason why the Phantom of the Opera routine worked so well.
Some ideas that could really work well would be Carmen, or Cats, or Chicago, or A Chorus Line.
Those are just some ideas I had though..... I really like your new perspectives....
Thanks again for all the help.
