Wow! That was a very powerful song! They all have great voices, and I loved the lyics to it ("...My name was up in lights, His soul lit up the night, a voice on a sidewalk stage...)
I am really excited for this show!

Well....guess I won't be going to that show.

Why? Was it me or the song? lol
I guess it is just me. :) I'm just an old fashioned gal. That song (and the previous one) just sounded too much like pop music to me. The singing is great - Eden is amazing. It just sounds more suited for a song on the radio or a concert.
It makes me want to go out and whip out a Sondheim CD!!!
This show mixes very very traditional broadway music with a "pop" flare to it. Some aspects of Once upon a time are right out of older more standard shows.

Phew! I thought you might have said "You are the reason I will not see this show, you and your so called 'enthusiasm'!".
But, Yes I do also believe that this show will turn many people off towards it because the sound is too pop, although in my opinion I think that it is refreshing that they are trying something somewhat original (Rent did it first, this seems to have more soul in it though!).
bdway child...rent was by far not the first show to use a pop sound to the music...Hair did it and there were others as well.

Sorry, Rent was just the first thing that came to mind, I really phrased that sentence wrong. I meant Rent was one of the musicals whom have used a Pop/Rock tone to their music before Brooklyn. Updated On: 8/25/04 at 01:08 PM
ugh, again, i don't like the chrous in the background...it just sounds very cheesy. But without the chorus....that song would awesome. Eden is going to go FAR with that voice.
I cant wait for the OBCR to come out...I can see me being addicted to the songs for awhile...i have to admit the songs that were released are catchy.
Eden is clearly very, very, VERY talented. I definitely love to listen to her voice. I'm just waiting to be impressed by Brooklyn. These songs they are releasing are not helping.

*Yawn* I didn't think much of this song, at all. This musical seems like such an Eden showcase. Like her own solo show.
These songs that they are releasing better be the worst ones in the show.
