Did anyone see the play on Broadway?
I think it's one of the best written plays of all times.
Any comments?

I really hated the movie. Is it as wooden and pretentious on stage?

it would have been strange to see it with Clive playing Dan, because of the movie, Clive is forever Dr. Larry as far as this play goes

I loved the movie. How was it done on stage? Did they do the "internet" chat on stage or was that just done for the movie? I would imagine it would be really boring to watch on stage.

Well, if we had seen it, it would've been years before the movie came out so if anything it would've been weird to see Clive as Larry, which I'm sure is what some people who saw the play first think now.

Ok, that sentence made no sense, lol...

Saw it in London and Broadway. It was amazing. Clive is the man!! Ciaran Hinds was incredible. Richardson was awesome on Broadway.

However, i have to say my favorite production was the Taper Forum production with Maggie Gyllenhaal and Rebecca De Morney.

SPOILER REQUEST

I have read that the published version, the Broadway version, and the movie have substantial differences, particularly in the ending. Could someone who knows more shed some light? Thanks.

We did a production of Closer last year at the Times Square Arts Center. The ending in the movie is definitely different with regards to the character of Alice. But I won't say why so it doesn't spoil it for others who haven't seen the movie or read the play.
