Funny how people seem shocked to see stars who actually show signs of age these days.. and no one is commenting on the recent parade of bad face work on some of Broadway's aging leading men.


Seems time is reversing for Brent.

Saw it last night and loved it.

The usual "donor" crowd didn't really dig it much though, many walk outs and complaints that there "IS NO STORY".

Quite pathetic.

i saw it last night and while i did not walk out, i thought there was no real set. it looked REALLY cheap and there were way too many moments that screeched to a dead halt.

i remember loving the Lincoln Center telecast of this and this production was FAR FROM IT.

I love Jarrod Emick, but NSMT (North Shore Theater) NEVER FAILS to disappoint me! Its too far from Boston (1 hour drive) its in Beverly, the parking is a mess (its like going to Water County in New Hampshire and most importantly their production are SECOND RATE and underwhelming plus I am not a big fan of their circular stage~they can't barely do with that set-up with scenic design (and scenic design is VERY IMPORTANT to me) I saw the original show at the Vivian Beaumont in 2000~honestly I did not even think its a MUSICAL!

I will skip this one. besides I hate going to Beverly, Ma. I rather take the 4 hour chinatown bus ride to NYC and see the REAL thing! Thank you, folkyboy-I got my answer when I read your post!

SirNotAppearing, are you kidding??? Tons of Tony winners and nominees do regional theatre consistently. It's how you keep working. There's no such thing as consistently working on Broadway, you'd be waiting for days. Some are lucky to but that's a very small percentage. They always go out and do regional theatre in leading roles. Look at Chita, she's doing "The Visit" at Signature Theatre and you have Beth Leavel working at The Muny this summer as well among countless others. No one likes to not work and if you're not currently in a broadway show, regional theatre is the place to go and headline a show.

That's like saying "I feel bad that that Oscar winning movie actor has to do a PLAY."

Obviously, poor Julia Roberts couldn't get any movie roles last year.

WOW.. I did not know NYC was the only place REAL theatre happened. Guess all these theatres around the contry should just close up shop.

That Boston Globe review seems to think the show was pretty good.. and even improved on the original in some ways. Updated On: 6/15/08 at 08:18 PM
