#1Can anyone add any light?

I'm trying to plan two quickie trips into the city this summer and am trying to figure out what to see.

I was wondering if anyone here had seen (or knows anyone that has) and can give me any thoughts on:

Grand Manner
The Screwtape Letters

(I don't think it has started previews on the following yet, but could be wrong)
Trust
See Rock City and Other Destinations

TIA for any thoughts you are willing to share!

If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

I saw The Grand Manner back in June. The cast was excellent and Boyd Gaines in particular was a delight. I think it's a nice introduction to Gurney's work and especially meaningful if you're an avid theatregoer, but I couldn't help looking at my watch several times throughout the (only 90 minutes) performance. It felt a bit slow and "sparkless". Pleasant but nothing more.

Hope this helps. Enjoy, whatever you end up choosing.

I did not care for Screwtape, but is you love the book you will probably enjoy the show.

See Rock City previewed last night, it has a lot of clips on its facebook page and looks good, I am going next week.

I do not think Trust has not started yet, I will be going in August.

Saw Falling for Eve this week and really enjoyed it, both the music and performances.
