so sad to see this go, no not sad-devastating. anyone else there? I was in the first row. Anika was out..Shanon tore the house down. Wow. Powerhouse. She was so gracious and we talked for a few minutes, shes leaving tommorow to start with the Hairspray tour. Tonya was in the best voice I've heard her yet. I talked with her before and after the show, she remembered my name from meeting her last month! And Veanne, who is so spectacular, she really should have been nominated for a Tony. Everytime I see the show I pick up new things she does with her character, and everytime she has tears streaming down her eyes during act 2. Shes just marvelous, she gives herself over to the character at every performance. And she gave me a kiss on the cheek at the stage door! We talked for a bit. Harrison told me he saw me moving my mouth to his lyrics and then Veanne says to me and says "you know Harrison says to us backstage, 'there is a boy who knows all the lyrics in the 1st row!'

also talked to Harrison about the Sy scandal. drama.

Thank you so much to the cast and creative team of this extraordinary work. My memories from attending this show will live with me as a theatregoer/perfomer for the rest of my life. Updated On: 8/23/04 at 01:01 AM

I said, "that was a neat thing you did last week, letting Sy go on" and his father says "oh that was drama...the message on Tonya's board was deleted. Harrison just felt pressured by Sy's family to let him go on."
