Not too shabby. And in my mind, there is NO chance that Tonya Pinkins won't win as best actress in a musical. None.

She is AMAZING in the part... Vocaly the show is great. the rest, i was not to thrilled with. The night my friend and i went several people walked out in the Orc cntr. I like and understand the story, but i think there are several unclear parts to the show. Also the mics really need to be tuned up beacue there were several times u could not hear ANYTHING other than a muffeling sound.

I had a problem with the score. I guess I need more structure to my music...a hummable melody, maybe.

But I really liked the show. I thought it was creative and moving, and didn't settle for the neat tie-it-up-pretty ending. I found myself thinking about it for days afterward. It was different than anything *I've* ever seen on Broadway... Which in and of itself is a good thing; a promise that we aren't doomed to a life of formulaic musicals populated by pop music transplants.

I was also blown away by the actress who played the daughter...Anika Noni Rose...also nominated for a Drama Desk.
