I am in such awe of Cheyenne Jackson. With so many (I'm sure) Broadway leading men leading quiet lives as "openly gay" men, but not really being OPENLY gay because it's never mentioned in interviews or articles, along comes Cheyenne who has no problem being honest and open...with everyone, not just with his close circle of friends. The one sentence in the interview about his being gay (just inserted there so matter-of-factly) shows how unimportant this all should be. If only the others in Cheyenne's shoes would realize that being out and proud is not an insurmountable obstacle. (Besides the fact that we gay people need all the openly gay superstar/role models we can get!) I am keeping all fingers and toes crossed that Cheyenne becomes the hottest thing on Broadway after All Shook Up opens. I have a front row center seat for June, and I can't wait!!!

Actually, I thought it was VERY funny how the writer segued directly from the sentence about Jackson buying Bway musical albums at garage sales as a child to the sentence where he describes growing up gay -- as if a description of someone buying Bway cast albums in and of itself outs a person!

That settles it. He's my new role model. Not only is he a beautiful man, but he's openly gay too and proud of it!

I go to SUNY New Paltz, and last year he came and performed with the cast of Aida FOR FREE. He is freaking amazing.

He's "a strapping 6-foot-3 with piercing blue eyes and a keenly muscled body"

So in other words he's my tall, dark, and handsome dream man. re: Cheyenne Jackson - One to Watch - nytimes.com!
