I saw Sweet Charity with my rewards tickets last night, but Christina was not performing. Her stand-in, Dylis something, was very good. The show is fun, but I wish I'd seen Christina. There were two couples next to us and the moment they announced she would be out, one lady got up and left--never returned. At intermission, the other lady left. The two men remaining just kind of smiled and enjoyed the show. I especially enjoyed the performances of Ernie Sabella and Dennis O'Hare (I think his name is Dennis---can't remember)---he played Oscar---very good performance! The elevator scene was the best part of the show for me.
We had great seats----the rewards program is a very nice boost.

Denis O'Hare is one of the greatest actors of all time.
I love Denis!

Posted: 11/30/05 at 9:33amMaybe it was too short-notice and Charlotte was unavailable. Anyone know if you she was in Chicago that night? Maybe she's still out of town visiting relatives for Thanksgiving or something.

I'm glad Dylis had another chance.
Who was on for Charlotte monday? Bryn Dowling, or Michelle Potterff?

Bryn Dowling.
Where the heck is Belle Calaway, anyhow? Hopefully in something new somewhere...

Belle hasn't been the Standy by lately.
I am so glad Bryn and Michelle have been getting a chance with Roxie. They are two VERY VERY talented females in the ensemble.
Maybe they will take the root of Michelle DeJean. Michelle was just an ensemble girl (understudy Roxie, but RARELY went on.) And once Charlotte was out filling in for Christina. Michelle DeJean was bumped up to Roxie for a month and so. And now she is headlining the tour. Which is fabulous, because she is soo talented.
Did you get to see Bryn in the role. If so how was she?

Posted: 11/30/05 at 4:25pmYou said they announced Christina was out....is the Hirschfeld not putting up the "at this performance" sign?

Posted: 11/30/05 at 4:56pmA theater can announce it and put insert in playbill and that is considered valid as well. Maybe they didn't want a sign sitting there saying no Christina. I love Bryn as well.

Posted: 11/30/05 at 5:01pmyankeefan---the box office woman told me that Christina was out when she handed me the tickets. I then noticed the "at this performance....." sign on the wall. About 10 minutes later, a sheet of paper also stating that she would not be performing was posted on the inside lobby doors.

Posted: 11/30/05 at 5:02pmI see. I've known some theaters not to announce the star's absence, making very unhappy theatergoers.
