Christine Ebersole is the featured guest on PBS' NY Voices tonight. The show's at 10 pm and was taped at the Walter Kerr. From the e-mail I got (I work at PBS):
"Join us tonight as host Rafael Pi Roman interviews Christine Ebersole, star of the hit Broadway musical Grey Gardens. New York Voices visits Ebersole at the Walter Kerr Theater, where she discusses her life both on-stage and off, balancing the demands and success of Grey Gardens with her life at home in Maplewood, New Jersey, which includes her three adopted children, her husband, her 89-year-old mother, and a menagerie of pets.
In 1998, Christine Ebersole’s Hollywood agent told her that her career was over because, in effect, she was over the hill, past her prime. Yet nine years later, critics are hailing her performance on Broadway as “a new benchmark for musical theatre excellence”.
A Tony-award winning actress, Ebersole has earned rave reviews from critics and audiences alike for her electrifying dual performance in Grey Gardens as both Little Edie Beale and Edith Bouvier Beale – the eccentric cousin and aunt of Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis – who went from high-society to notorious reclusion and squalor in their East Hampton home.
