"Contact" and "Night Music" featured on Best of Live from Lincoln Center Telecast Tonight

An excerpt from Lincoln Center Theatre's production of "Contact" and the New York City Opera "A Little Night Music" will be aired tonight as part of a Best of Live from Lincoln Center broadcast. The excerpt from "Night Music" will be Sally Anne Howes singing "Send in the Clowns" - this is the excerpt that was chosen by viewers via the Live from Licoln Center Theatre website.

I wish they were showing "A Weekend In The Country." In the theatre, it was dull, but it was electric on camera!

I agree TT. "Weekend in the Country" would have been the best choice - but - they didn't ask us! :)

Does anyone know if the DVD/Video of Contact was ever released to the public? I've done a search but came up with nothing.

Nope. Unfortunately, the LIVE FROM LINCOLN CENTER broadcast of CONTACT (or THE LIGHT IN THE PIAZZA, or...) was never released on DVD or any format of home video. Due to Equity rights and other copyrights issues, they never will be.

Only PBS releases some of their GREAT PERFORMANCES programs, such as CANDIDE in Concert, SOUTH PACIFIC in Concert, FOSSE, but alas, not PASSION in Concert.

They also claim to never re-air this stuff. Wait and see, that's all I gotta say.

Sure...let's keep waiting. CONTACT aired in 2001. Hopefully it'll be out on DVD in another few years. What's a decade or so? I mean...we waited HOW long for LIZA WITH A 'Z' to released? Decades? Hmmm.

Ain't gonna happen, big guy.
