OK dumb question, but back in back in 1981, HBO taped a live version of the play Jack Heifner's VANITIES that they later aired. Meredith Baxter Birney and Annette O'Toole were in it. It has not been released since. Thank you, HBO, for hiding it forever with others in a vault. Jack Heifner, whom I spoke with via e-mail (a very dear man, by the by) actually said he is highly peeved HBO has not released it in ages. He has 1 copy but, of course, cannot do squat with it, for contractual reasons.
Anyone know where or whom I may be definitely able to obtain a copy from? I have hunted all over for ages and no luck. Anyone know of anyone?

If you're in NYC, perhaps it is available for viewing at the Rodgers and Hammerstein archives at Lincoln Center or the Museum of Broadcasting.

You might also try to view it at the Museum of Television & Radio on 52nd Street, if they have a copy. Unlike Lincoln Center, you don't need an appointment or a reason to view the tape, you can just wander in and ask for it.

Kee-rect. I misremembered the name of the Museum of TV and Radio.
