For performance rights go to Dramatists Play Service:

For the actual copyright, I would assume it is held by either the estates of Kaufman or Hart, or possibly a joint ownership between the two.

With some very quick Google-foo, it looks like Hart & Koffman's eldest daughters hold the copyright to the play. I'm not sure you'll be able to talk to Moss Hart's daughter without being sick first (she's an internist), but George S. Koffman has a website. You can try getting more information from there.

I would suggest learning how to spell George S. Kaufman's last name. He never spelled it with two Fs, but he always spelled it with an A and a U.
The website for The Library of America's "Kaufman & Co." I doubt it would be of much help.
Moss Hart and Kitty Carlisle had two children, Christopher and Kathy. (The daughter might spell her name with a C.) I don't know if both children hold the copyright or just one.
Kaufman's daughter is Anne Kaufman Schneider. She does hold the copyright.
I suggest first contacting Dramatists Play Service at their website. Explain why you want to contact the joint copyright holders. They should be able to help you.

I agree with A Director's advice: go through Dramatists for help.
If you tell US what you are trying to ask/do; we might actually be able to help you.

Jon -- I had a similar thought, but figured it didn't hurt to find out.
And don't you just love when a poster (presumably) brand new, asks for help, and gets it -- doesn't revisit the thread to say thanks.
Hmmpf.
