Couple of board updates....

That you'll notice next to the thread display -- little icons. These will show if there's been new messages posted in a thread since you've viewed it (open envelope) or if not (closed envelope). Also, the subject lines will now rebold themselves if new messages have been posted as well...

Additionally - you'll see a red version of the two icons, which signifies a 'Hot Topic,' currently defined as a thread with 500+ views and/or 30+ replies. I might tweak that number higher, we'll see how it goes.

Supporting credit goes to Sueleen who kept periodically reminding me to add these 2 features which I promised a while ago.

Day what? I took most of the day off... How's that? Actually finished most of it a couple of days ago, just have been testing and bug fixing since then.

That reminds me - one user e-mailed with a problem getting on to any page of the site. Clearing his browser's cache + cookies solved it. Since no one else has had that problem, I think it was on his end, but figured I'd pass it along either way.

It doesn't seem to be working right for me, Rob. The envelopes stay closed as long as I remain somewhere within the site but, if I leave and come back, they're open again even if there are no new posts in the thread. Does this maybe have to do with my own settings? I have no problem staying logged in, though, as I do on many other sites. Could just be my screwed up Gateway computer - I've had nothing but trouble with this thing since day one - but that's an entirely different matter!

Oh and while I'm here, BroadwayWorld Radio isn't working for me either (it has in the past). Nothing happens when I click on the Low Speed option.

The envelopes work via cookies... So if you've got them turned off in your browser for one reason or another, they won't change from open to closed. You may also need to refresh to see them based on how your browser is set up.

The threads changing from bold to regular is cookie independent so should work regardless of your browser settings.
