So, this might be random, but here it goes.

Collaboration can be very tricky in the theater. Just to mount a new musical you have the book writer, composer, lyricist, director, and choreographer (albeit that more than one of these roles might be taken on by the same person) all having to work together to come up with one unified vision. Sometimes this works out great, and sometimes something can get lost in translation.

Sometimes I think Critics criticize things about shows that may have been the result of this "too many cooks" syndrome. (And rightly so.) But randomly I was thinking... what would happen if all the NY theater critics had to collaborate on a single review of each show?

Just an interesting thought...

Can we please LUPWN this thread?

"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

CapnHook this isn't even worthy of LuPwnage.

There are two unspoken rules of the LuPwned...

1. Don't waste your time LuPwning Bryan (theatre2)

2. When a thread or post is stupid enough by itself, don't whip out the sacred LuPwnage.
