Previews Oct. 23 in advance of a Nov. 20 opening. LCT produces in arrangement with Primary Stages.
Directed by Michael Wilson, cast features Elizabeth Ashley, Arthur French, Hallie Foote, Penny Fuller, Gerald McRaney, Devon Abner, James DeMarse, Pat Bowie, Virginia Kull, Maggie Lacey, Nicole Lowrance, Jenny Dare Paulin and Keiana Richard.

Yup, that's the question.
Horton Foote wrote it in the 80s but it never had a staging in NY until last year. He turned down any nomination that considered it a "revival," because it had been substantially rewritten.

It premiered at the McCarter Theatre in Princeton NJ, and then we did it at Great Lakes Theater Festival in Cleveland with a different cast and staging in 91-92, I believe. Elizabeth Franz played a leadng role and was heartbreaking.
At the time, it was hoped to move to NYC, but no substantial plans materialized.

I'm very much looking forward to this play, although Horton Foote trying to pass it off as new is ridiculous, and he really handled himself like an idiot during awards season. To call this new would also qualify the revival of Pal Joey as new, because they both have "rewrites." The revival of The Ritz was "revised," but that was a revival.
Horton, get over it. You shouldn't be in this business for awards anyway...
