I remember when this show was on Broadway it was taboo for the press to associate the show with The Supremes. When the tour played a theatre I worked at the engagement contract forbid us from even mentioning The Supremes. Recently some of the press, when mentioning Beyonce, are outright saying it's based on the life of The Supremes (others: "loosely based on The Supremes", "a new movie which is based on a Broadway tribute to Diana Ross and the Supremes", ) and some press has even said that Beyonce will be playing "Diana Ross". I hope this movie doesn't turn into the life of The Supremes. I hope the press is just being ignorant.
Yesssssss, another Dreamgirls post! I love them all and all of them love me.

It was reported that when Diana Ross went to see it, she walked out after the first act.
Mary Wilson had said when she saw it that she didn't realize how interested people still were in The Supremes.
Didn't Diana call Sheryl Lee over at a party and say something like, "You're the one...that plays the role."

"Actually Miss Ross did not walk out of the show."
I distinctly remember reading that she did. Maybe it was a Liz Smith boo-boo, but whether true or not, I remember reading that.
