I saw it and loved it! Really. I loved the fact that the cast puts their entire heart and soul into the show. When the producer played by Campbell Bridges (according to the playbill) says, "Bleed for me, bleed." I truly beleive that is what this group of six actors is all about. What's strange to me is all the reviews I have read do not see the show for what it is....entertainment! It is a happy, go-lucky, entertaining show. I left the theatre smiling and that made going to the theatre perfect!

This is perhaps one of the worst shows that I have ever seen.

And while I am glad, kalie, that you enjoyed yourself- I must point out that you WORK for the Jean Cocteau. Your posting in June of what shows your theatre company/school/etc would be doing just happens to match the Cocteau's exactly.

Yep! I do work for the Cocteau and what's the big deal? I saw the show and really, really liked it? Is that wrong? Am I not allowed to like shows for a theatre of which I am associated???

Perfectly okay to like a show that you are associated with. It's even fine sing it's praises left and right after it has been universally panned.

What makes you the shill that you are is that the only two posts of any merit you have made in your 3 months here were to 1) ask if anyone had heard about Threepenny coming back to the Jean Cocteau and 2) to praise a show at the Jean Cocteau that is in desperate need of some good publicity.

At least be up front about what you were doing and don't pretend that you don't know everything about the show. (Really now, "according to the playbill?")

I am actually doing this show right now and yes it's cheesy but thats the purpose. It's poking fun at the old 1930's musical, and if people can't see that and they actually believe that the actors sincerely believe what they are saying then they are obviously dumb. The shows witty and its purpose is to get people to laugh and yes the lines our dumb but thats there purpose.

ok this is the show that our high school is doing and it is god awful!!! i'm soo depressed im sorry but there is a huge difference between campy and crap!!
