Posted: 4/12/08 at 5:58pmI would love to see this show at City Center (especially with the great casting news announced earlier), but I will be away for all of July. So, what does everybody think of the possiblity of a Broadway transfer?

Just because it plays City Center over the summer does not mean it will transfer...
And, doesn't J-Krak have TV shows to make?

Posted: 4/12/08 at 8:51pmI think it could esp. with it being baseball season - might actually pull out external crowds.

it would have to be EXCEPTIONALLY good to warrant a Broadway transfer, methinks.
However, Damn Yankees, like The Pajama Game and She Loves Me, are classic shows that are not as popular as others but still have a huge following, so it could potentially do well.
I'd much rather see a revival of Hello, Dolly!

Posted: 4/12/08 at 9:11pmPlease no. cant we concentrate on new and exciting works. 'Damn Yankees' was only on Broadway in 1994 and 'Hello, Dolly' also.

Posted: 4/12/08 at 11:38pmI hope it transfers. I dont think it's ever really been a commercial success per say but, I really think we could use those OLD time musicals back on stage. Damn Yankees, Guys And Dolls...hey I would even pay to see another revival of H2$ even if it closed 11 years ago.

La Krakowski already has a full-time gig over at NBC in Tina Fey's multi-award winning gem 30 ROCK which will begin filming its 3rd season this fall, so she's not available for ANY transfer or ANY Broadway run of ANYTHING. Her City Center's appearance is taking place during her hiatus period from 30 ROCK.

Posted: 4/13/08 at 12:40amI was hoping that the Jason Alexander version might come to B'way, but it doesn't look like that will ever happen. I highly doubt that the City Center one will transfer, but I guess we'll have to wait and see.
