Sad news for Downton fans. I read the news on Broadway.com. Also, I managed to see the Season 3 Christmas Day episode of Downton, last night. Let's just say...a life began and ..... (If you want details, pvt. message me.) from RC in Austin, Texas

I was under the impression it had been out there for quite a while about him not signing on again, (not really spoilery but just in case someone complains it was a comment too far) so it was a case of how and when more than if. Needless to say there was nothing surprising about it really.

Or, Dan Stevens loses his entire fanbase.

It had been out there for a while that he had yet to sign on for Season 4, but there's always that collective mentality to hold onto hope until the very last minute. Then a few days ago there was some preview footage hinting at his fate, and it became pretty hard to deny, although I know my friends and I did until we could not possibly anymore. Now that the Christmas Special has aired, it's on record that he's known he wasn't coming back since last February.

That news is kinda grim. It's hard to imagine the show without him. He is terrific eye-candy. Got to see him up close in The Heiress. Nice!
