I am coming to NY the weekend of April 5th. I already plan on seeing Next to Normal and hope to see the Hair revival as well if I can win the lottery. I have one spot left for a show and wanted to see a play and am trying to decide between 33 Variations, Mary Stuart (which I just read and is fabulous), God of Carnage, reasons to be pretty. Any suggestions? I know its a lot to choose from. Thanks for your help!

I saw 33 Variations with a friend and we both really liked it. I haven't seen any of the others on your list (yet) but reasons to be pretty and Exit the King are on the top of my list.

Exit the King, God of Carnage. And if you haven't seen August, for God's sake GO. It may be your last chance before Phylicia Rashad comes in.

reasons to be pretty

I'm not seeing it myself until this Saturday, but it was critically acclaimed Off-Broadway and the play itself is brilliant.

I'm getting really excited for Mary Stuart, so I would personally choose that. If you want to venture downtown, Our Town is amazing!

God of Carnage is hysterical. I loved it.

Haven't seen Mary Stuart, but I have seen the other three: God of Carnage would be my first choice, it is just SO damn enjoyable, although 33 Variations and Reasons to be Pretty are both very good.

I can only recomend August: Osage County right now, because that's the only one I have seen. I have tickets for several others the next few months.
BUT, I can tell you that I am very interested in seeing "Irena's Vow". It seems like a show that would "move" a peson and is filled with drama and heart that would make a great theater-going experience!
