I love it! I think it would make a great stage show! It has a great score and a very talented cast!

With just a little more reworking, I think it would be a great show. It's sort of Wicked-esque in that it's a new take on the same story, with a different focus. Those always seem to do quite well in different media.

Can you tell us the songs? Who is the design team? How were the costumes? Where there any cool special effects?

It was a television musical in 2000 starring Drew Carey as Ghepetto with a score by Stephen Schwartz.

From what I remember - horrible. But I only saw it once and loooong ago.

"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

Go on ebay and find a copy for like 5 bucks! It's really great!

Okay, call me crazy, but was Raul Esparza in any way affiliated with this movie?

I believe this is an adaptation of that show. It's way out of the way and I believe it premiered a month ago.

Okay, I didn't think he was in it. But at the chatterbox last year, he said that Stephen really beleived in him and had pulled him in to sing something for Gepetto. And I was really confused cause I thought I was familiar with all the work he had done. But then I looked up the soundtrack and couldn't find anything. Alas.
