Donna Sits Out...

Now she is going to sit out of the evening shows Saturday and Sunday to build up her muscles. Linda will be going on for her. Donna Murphy will still play the matinees.

Interesting that Donna Murphy will have missed 10 performances of Wonderful Town by the end of this weekend. Bernadette Peters missed, I believe, 11 performances total of Gypsy during her pre- and post-opening illness. Yet, all has been quiet from Riedel on Wonderful Town. Guess he doesn't want to offend his good friend Barry Weissler. Or maybe Riedel is just not an equal opportunity offender.

All that aside, I hope Donna gets better quickly, and that Wonderful Town is a triumph for her.

magruder, I think it also has to do with the star calibre of Bernadette Peters. Donna Murphy is really not known outside of very knowledgeable theater circles.
