Tommy Tune is Dr. Dolittle in this big, boisterous family musical, and his ability to talk to the animals will take audiences on one extraordinary adventure after another.
Based on Leslie Bricusse's (Jekyll and Hyde, Victor/Victoria) Oscar-winning film, this fun and fanciful tale will entertain adults and children alike with delightful melodies and impressive special effects. Dr. Dolittle's host of amazing animals - designed by Kenneth Foy (Gypsy), Ann Hould- Ward (Beauty and the Beast) and Michael Curry (The Lion King) - is comprised of actors playing fully realized animals, hand puppets, marionettes and enormous flying animals. The charming and witty score features songs such as "When I Look in Your Eyes," "I've Never Seen Anything Like It" and the Academy Award-winning "Talk to the Animals."
It is here Jan 31st through Feb. 12th. I plan to see it.
There is a new poster but I don't know how to get the image on here.

Will the Pushme/Pullyou be in it ? Sounds interesting doesn't it
The score does not get the credit it deserves. The movie really tanked at the box office for some reason. Not a bad flick. Tommy Tune as the good doctor may be a reason to see it.

I like the new logo. I saw the Hewitt Dr. Dolittle. Yikes. I'd really like to know how this one is. It sounds promising.

uncageg,
Please let me know how Dee Hoty fares in her role in this show. I am praying this is not another "Whorehouse goes Public" type of venture for her.

Posted: 12/8/05 at 10:49amI will post a review right after I see it. ANd let's just hope Mr. Tune doesn't turn this into Buskers/Busker Alley/Stagedoor Charlie part two! I swear, if there is a lamp post in this show, I am running out of the theatre! I saw it when it was here and I actually got dizzy from watching him swing around that thing so many times!!!
