Hi there! I have a question about shows during Easter weekend. I'm going home the last weekend of March because Cathy Rigby is touring "Peter Pan" in Philly. Silly me never realized that it was going to be Easter weekend until I looked at the calendar, and I had decided that while I was home, I was dragging my friend Jen into the City to see "Dirty Rotten Scoundrels."

This is my question: Are performers often understudied Easter Weekend? As much as I know that there will still be understudies, I want to see the show with Norbert and Sherie. That is the big draw for me. I'll be absolutely devastated if they're not there that day. I already have the tickets, too, so I can't just go, "Well, I'll go over the summer" because it isn't really an option. I called the box and they said they wouldn't know if they were taking a vacation until the day of the show.

I guess I'm not asking specifically for THEM because nobody would know, but I want to know if, in general, it is common for actors to be out the day before Easter.

I'm seeing a matinee of "DRS" and I may be seeing an evening show of "Avenue Q," depending on whether or not it's common for actors to be out. I haven't bought tickets for "Q" yet, though, only "DRS."

Anyway, any insight or thoughts would be very much appreciated!! Updated On: 1/29/05 at 01:27 PM

bouncitybounce?

Hopefully this won't get pushed to the third page before anyone sees it like it did when I initially posted.

Anybody know what Easter Shows are normally like so I can know what to expect?

I was in NYC last Easter. I saw Rent on Friday and Wicked and Gypsy on Saturday with no understudies including the entire original Wicked principal cast. That was my experience. I have not clue for the current shows.
