Has anyone here attended any performances at the Eisenhower Theatre (Kennedy Center) in DC? How is the view from the balony? Thanks.
I watched Teahouse there. It is a good theatre with nice view. Not very big. My seat is in orchestra though.
I'm going to be getting tickets for Mame. I saw Hay Fever there about 20 years ago, but I don't remember where I sat.
Dottie, do you know when tickets for MAME go on sale?
They went on sale November 7th. There are plenty seats still available. I'm going over there during my lunch break tomorrow.
I saw all of the shows in the Sondheim Celebration from the Balcony, and they are excellent seats... It is a relatively small theatre, so no seat is really bad.
Thank you.
So excited to see Christine Barranski, Harriet Harris, Emily Skinner (if she bothers to show up) and Max Von Essen on the same stage! Should be an excellent evening of theater.
The Eisenhower Theatre is where the Sondheim festival took place. The theatre has an intimate feel about it. If you go to the Kennedy Center website you can take a virtual tour of the Eisenhower Theatre and even click on a section to get an idea of what the view is like.
I just did that. Thanks, Morosco.

I purchased tickets for MAME for a performance in mid-June and got dead center orchestra, Row K. You can't beat that. I think the cast is extraordinary. Emily Skinner is a home-town hero here in Richmond (VA) ... her family lives just a few blocks from me. I actually worked with her when she was a child actress. And Harriet Harris played Nora in DOLL'S HOUSE for my theatre in Cleveland. I am really looking forward to the production.
I also sat in the first row mezz for the Sondheim festival. I love this theatre - primarily because of its intimate size. I've honestly never had a bad seat here.
FYI - I'll be seeing Bill Pullman and Judith Ivey in "The Subject Was Roses" this Saturday. For anyone interested in stage-dooring this theatre, go out on the observation deck and then walk around to the OUTSIDE of the KC - on the side of the Eisenhower Theatre. There are a couple sets of double doors down that side and the stage door is the second set.

Did she bother to show then?
