You will get as many opinions as you do answers but...
I saw Fela off B'way and was intrigued the entire evening. An interesting and (at times) frightening story.
I've heard mostly good things about the performances in the Understudy...but haven't seen it firstt hand.

I had a terrific time at THE UNDERSTUDY - I may try to get back to it before it closes.
FELA! was one of the most excrutiating evenings I've ever had in a Broadway theatre. I'd give FELA! tix for Christmas if I could think of anyone I hate that much.

Posted: 12/20/09 at 12:39pmIt's about the first put-in rehearsal for the understudy to a major action film star in an undiscovered Kafka play on Broadway. Justin Kirk is the understudy, Mark-Paul Gosselaar is the movie star, and Julie White is the stage manager.

Oh thanks, sounds like fun! Does it flow quickly like Little Dog Laughed did?
Do they have a student rush? I might go see it this week.

Oh, definitely. It flies by. Like I said, I've seen it three times, and each time I'm surprised by how quickly it goes by. It's only 90 minutes or so. It's hysterical.
It's the same as all Roundabout shows: they have general rush ($21.50) when the box office opens (which is noon at the Pels) and half-off student rush, which I think is half an hour before curtain, but you should double-check on the time. But either way, the general rush is a better deal.

I went to see the play tonight, and honestly, the acting was terrific. The actors were also so graceful and were more patient than I would have been with certain photographers at the stage door.
But the play...honestly, it was really terrible material these actors are working with. Both me and my friend(a BWW user) didn't enjoy the play one bit.
