Miracle of Miracles! Now, does anyone have a song list? It's supposed to be 75 minutes long so I'm assuming they're recording Tevye's Monologue and the Chavaleh sequence and all that, but anything official yet???
The CD that I have, has Tevye's Monologue, and the Chavaleh sequence, only they spelled it differently, (Chava). It's the one with Robert Merrill & Molly Picon, but it's still only about 45 maybe 50 minutes. I'm curious as to how they're going to do a 75 minute Fiddler. It's going to be awesome. Plus, I've yet to hear "Topsy-Turvy".... They'll probably include Tevye's conversations with God just to fill out the CD, but that's pure speculation. I'm a sucker for new recordings of classic shows...

Has anyone seen this show lately. Do they have the souvenier progrmas yet?
I cannot wait for this Cd to be released...great cast...so It'll be a great recording
It's definitely gonna be definitive for me. I'm not partial to any of the other Fiddler recordings. I'll get this and then sell my other three. Provided they include "The Rumor" as a bonus track. Otherwise I'll still have to keep my Broadway one, cuz I love that song. "That's what comes from men and women dancing!"

did they cut "the rumor" from the show?
I've seen the show and I don't even remember if they cut "The Rumor."......tells ya how memorable that performance was....All I remember is John Cariani as Motel.
"The Rumor" was replaced by the new song "Topsy-Turvy"....
Has anyone heard "Topsy-Turvy"? What does it sound like? And, for that matter, who sings it?
I liked the revival in general...but "Topsy-Turvy" is going to make you long for "The Rumor". It's performed by Yente and two female villagers. It sounds very much like the middle section of "Matchmaker, Matchmaker" (Tzeitel's imitation of Yente, that begins, "Hodel, oh Hodel...).

Count me in as another fan of "The Rumor." I really don't see why it needed to be replaced- it isn't a masterpiece, but it was amusing, which was its purpose.
Oh well...I have yet to hear "Topsy-Turvy" so I'll wait before I kvetch. :)
