I know there was a bit in the show that dealt with Sir Robin and a chicken but it was cut.
Now I know it was cut and someone said that when David Hyde Pierce was on Leno (or Letterman) he brought the rubber chicken on because he was upset it wouldn't make the Broadway run. In the song "All for One" they mention it "Sir Robin the Not-quite-so-brave-as-Sir-Lancelot, who slew the vicious Chicken of Bristol..."
Does anyone know what happened before they cut it?

Posted: 5/19/05 at 7:40pmI didn't see the Chicago run, but I've seen photos...I think it's just that they changed the chicken. The one in Chicago (the one David brought onto Letterman) is large and feathered; the one being used now is skinny and plucked!

Skinny chicken is probably to cut down production costs

Posted: 5/20/05 at 12:31amI saw the run in Chicago and I'm pretty sure that all that happened to the production that was significant was the cutting of the song "Burn Her" and its respective scene and the song "The Cow" which occurred before the tossing of the cow/"Run Away." Unfortunately, both these cuts, while necessary, also diminished Sara Ramirez's role from seemingly leading to featured, as both were essentially hers. As for the chicken...it probably just changed appearance.
