Nice typo- House of Mormon! HAHAHAHA
I wonder if Jujamycn gets the theater, what will they rename it since Foxwoods naming rights end come June.
Will Hammerstein finally get a theater bearing his namesake?

I'm surprised Nederlander or the Shubert weren't interested but I guess they have no need for another big theatre whereas Jujamcym does as they've only got The St James,
It wouldn't be surprise if it it gets another sponsorship name but it would be nice to see it rename to something like the Hammerstein,
Hammerstein...Hal Prince...Tennessee Williams...just not the Junior Whopper Theatre.
iStage
Or we could get it named after some random dude that threw a lot of money at Jujamcyn...
The Wallace T. Greene Theatre
The Damian R. Roseblum Theatre
Or something like that?

I think Jordan Roth is too classy to let it be a financial naming-- he also is obsessed with theatre, and would want to respect the idea that great theatre professionals should have theatres named in their honor. So I think.
Disney didn't want it? It's right across the street from the New Am!
It's tainted by the Garth Drabinsky touch.
Cast albums are NOT "soundtracks."
Live theatre does not use a "soundtrack." If it did, it wouldn't be live theatre!
I host a weekly one-hour radio program featuring cast album selections as well as songs by cabaret, jazz and theatre artists. The program, FRONT ROW CENTRE is heard Sundays 9 to 10 am and also Saturdays from 8 to 9 am (eastern times) on www.proudfm.com
Hammerstein has the Hammerstein Ballroom, right?
Um, Kander & Ebb, please and THANK YOU.

The Taymor Temple does have a nice ring to it.

Even though they own MARVEL, Disney would not want to be saddled with SPIDER-MAN. Apparently part of the purchasing agreement is that SPIDER-MAN can't be closed simply because the theatre is sold.
Disney does not want the theater because of the Spiderman paradox (Technically they should make money from the show, but at the same time they don't). Disney doesn't want the Foxwoods because they already own a barn, with the New Amsterdam, although they have almost always had 2 shows occupy 2 of the larger theaters, they learned with their failures from 2006-2008 that they can over crowd the market with spectacle shows, which is in part the reason they closed Beast for Mermaid and now Poppins for Alaadin. If Disney were to purchase any theaters they would be small play houses or more midsized theaters like the Neaderlander, Sondhiem, and Hayes, to showcase smaller shows they have been working on. For example if Disney owned the Hayes or even the Brooks Atkinson, I believe that Disney would have soley produced Peter and the Starcatcher on Broadway, instead of lettinng outside producers come in. In all honesty I would not be suprised if in the next 20 years or so Disney trys to purchase the Neaderlander Organization. They have been in bed together for the past 20 years, with the Neadelander theaters being the only theaters to house Disney shows that are not in the New Amsterdam, with the only exceptions being the Arcadia revival, which Disney threw money at to get Tom Stoppard to work on Father of the Bride and Sister Act because they owned the underlying rights.

It was Shakespeare in Love, not Father of the Bride which Tom Stoppard was working on for Disney and Sonia Friedman but he's since left.

This is big business and Roth, although classy, will not turn his nose up at a multi-million dollar naming opportunity.
I honestly think that corporate ownership of any venue is one of the tackiest, sad practices of the times we live in. I still intend to go to Staples Arena and demand that they sell me copy paper.
As Nathan Lane said at the Roundabout dedication of the Stephen Sondheim Theatre:
"The Sondheim has a much nicer ring to than the British Petrolium Theatre."
"Um, Kander & Ebb, please and THANK YOU."
I LOOOOOVE K&E, but I think it's time for Oscar Hammerstein, or Tennessee Williams, or even Hal Prince. Really hoping for one of those three.
